Quick tip: business meets personal

If you're using social media sites for both personal and business use, try to keep this rule in mind: Count to 10 before you post. Clients and business contacts probably don't want to hear about what you've had for lunch, your latest political rant, or how many Manhattans you had last night.

However, this window into your personal life can help build trust and long-lasting business and personal friendships. Keep it interesting, positive, relevant and easy on the controversy—or divide your friends into two separate accounts if you really need to get back up on your soapbox.

Cheers!
