How will marketers gain influence in the future? Let’s start with a short lesson in physics

For the past several years, we have been using Drupal as one of our favorite Content Management Systems (CMS) for developing websites and I have fallen in love with it.  As a digital strategist and a business owner, I help other business owners, managers and leaders build effective, flexible, scalable websites to drive their marketing and digital strategies forward.    

This is why I feel good recommending Drupal for business.

Talk to a few business or marketing people throughout the year and you will find that the word “branding” has nearly as many definitions as the word “love.” Some organizations understand branding to be their logo and tagline, their graphic standards, or their product names. Sure, but if you consistently fail in delivering value to your customers, does your clever tagline mean anything? 

Actually, quite a bit. There’s the obvious; just because you expose yourself doesn’t mean you can’t be overexposed.

Do you find social media networking exhausting or energizing? Does talking about yourself make you feel pretentious? It does me.

When I first started using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, it made me uncomfortable. I don’t like talking about myself — and the last thing I want to do is waste people’s time by talking about the minutia of my life.  I have read too many posts from people talking about what they ate, how many push-ups they did or how smart they think they are.

It all started when I decided to look up the word thesaurus in the thesaurus.

In my 35-year marketing career, I’ve never heard so many people talk about the speed of change that dominates our thinking, our processes, and our conversation.

What are 301 Redirects?  When you move, you go to the post office and fill out a change of address form to ensure your mail follows you to your new address. Essentially a 301 redirect is the ‘change of address’ form for the digital age.
